While part of our DNA from the very beginning, public housing and facilities in the nonprofit sector became our main focus in the last couple of years. Whether it’s a community center, daycenter or transit housing, we are passionate about contributing to projects with a social impact. In the dense urban context of the Brussels Region, these projects often need to be retrofitted into outdated infrastructure. We love the challenge of carefully combining the deep human aspect with budget and heritage value.
And in all of these projects, we systematically embed our progressive expertise in biobased and circular construction.

For non-profit organization Pag-Asa, doing fantastic work for victims of human trafficking and exploitation, two former physics and chemistry labs in a high school building were transformed into a shelter home with a common area and 5 private rooms with bathroom. The short-term stay offers residents comfort and privacy, a place to start a new life.

In yet another Brussels’ townhouse with a problematic interior-exterior relationship, the narrow kitchen and dining room were merged to create a bright and spacious family kitchen. A double-height second skin façade was added, connecting kitchen, terrace and basement in a way that allows the living spaces to extend into the garden.
